Contract, Pricing and Availability
Once an order for jewellery has been placed, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your order. Once payment has cleared, your order is generally accepted (unless I have any questions about sizing etc) and will be processed as quickly as possible.
Most items on this website are individual, uniquely handcrafted and ready for despatch, although on occasions, if a piece has been been sold recently elsewhere (such as a craft fair), steps will be taken to fulfill your order where possible as I will make another item in the same fashion. As I craft each piece of jewellery by hand, it may slightly vary from the product pictured and the lead time could be longer due to it being made to order for you. If you would like it confirmed when making your purchase that you are receiving the item in the photograph or have any other queries about this, please let me know before placing your order. If it is not possible for me to make a piece in the same way (if for example the gemstones used are truly unique), you will be advised as soon as possible and given the option of cancelling your order if you do not see something similar you would like.
If I make a piece of jewellery to order for you or you have commissioned a piece, I will keep you informed as to anticipated delivery. If you need the piece for a special occasion, please let me know when it is and I will do my best to make the order in time.
If there is a piece of jewellery you have previously seen on this site which you can no longer see or you are interested in a piece of jewellery featured in the Sold Items tab, please do get in touch as I may be able to handcraft another similar piece to order. The same goes if you see something in a size that does not fit you. Please let me know as I may be able to make a similar piece in a different size. I will let you know the price for this and the anticipated delivery date.
I reserve the right to amend any errors on this website or to update product information without any prior notice. If a price has been listed incorrectly due to a typographical error, I reserve the right to cancel or refuse any sales that have been confirmed. A full refund will be made if your card has already been charged.
I try to be as descriptive as possible in the item listings but if you have any queries about sizing, colour, etc, please email me firstname.lastname@example.org before placing an order.
Most of the items are made using handcrafted silversmithing and jewellery techniques. However, on occasions, some findings/connections may not be handcrafted, such as earring butterfly backs or necklace chains. If you would like to know more when placing an order, please email me for further information.
If you purchase an item through this website, you will not be liable to receive any variation of the price as you may have seen on another website or at a market, shop or fair in person.
I aim to despatch items within 1 week unless the item is being made to order. In these circumstances, you will be given an expected delivery date. I will keep you informed as to any substantial delays but if you have any queries at any time, please do email me to email@example.com.
Delivery charges may increase from time to time in line with increases by Royal Mail or other such carriers used. If you have made a purchase and the delivery charges have increased and I have not been able to update the website, I will inform you before posting the item and request the additional sum.
If for any reason you would like to cancel your order, please email me to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will let you know the status of your order. If your item has already been despatched, I may accept a return and provide a refund (see Returns/Refunds below for further details) although any shipping charges will not be refunded.
International buyers are responsible for any taxes or duties imposed by customs once shipped, along with any fees applied by the carrier in this respect. Please therefore ensure you are familiar with import thresholds for goods for your region. Please do email me if you have any queries about how your item will be despatched and what the charges will be.
I do not have a returns policy and generally deal with any returns/refunds on an individual basis. I take pride in each piece of jewellery that I make and I want you to be delighted when you receive it. If you are not fully satisfied when your item arrives, please email me immediately to email@example.com so that I can try to assist you as much as possible with a view to resolving the situation favourably. Please provide a reason for your return so that I can try to provide the best possible service to you.
As each item is fully described and photographed and (per the Contract tab above) I request that you email me if you have any questions before placing an order, this will be taken into account when assessing a case for refund.
Under current regulations, consumers have a 14 day period from the anticipated date of receipt in which to notify me that you wish to cancel/return your order. Once you have notified me within this timeframe, you have a further 14 days in which to return the jewellery purchased to me. If you do not adhere to these timeframes, you will be deemed to have received and be satisfied with your order. Any items or enquiries received outside of this timeframe will be assessed at my discretion.
Any jewellery you are returning must be unworn, undamaged and in its original packaging.
If you have received an item you believe is faulty, please contact me by email to firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss the options of repair, replacement or a refund.
I package items with great care so that your jewellery arrives with you in the perfect condition it leaves my studio. However, things can happen in transit that are beyond my control. In the case of damage having occurred in transit, please keep all packaging and the item until advised by me what to do as photographs or inspection of the damage may be required by me or any carrier involved as evidence in order to bring a resolution. If you do not keep the item and original packaging intact, reimbursement may not be possible.
I reserve the right to deduct funds from any refund where there is evidence of wear and damage or mishandling/misuse.
Any shipping costs will not be eligible for refund.
Please be mindful that once items are paid for in full and received by you, they become your property, so responsibility for them during any return transit is yours and an appropriate postal method with insurance and proof of delivery is recommended for your protection. At the very least you must obtain Proof of Posting from the Post Office.
Items not eligible for return
Earrings and custom made/bespoke/personalised items will not be considered for return unless faulty (see above).
All of the photographs displayed on this website are subject to copyright protection and are not to be used or copied elsewhere by any third party unless authorised by me.
Caring for your jewellery - things to note with handmade jewellery/raw materials
I carefully set out any materials used for each piece. I rarely use plated wire as I like to use solid precious metals and materials. The carat of any gold used will be stated against each item. If plated wire has been used, it will be stated against the item. The silver used will either be sterling 925 or fine silver (which is typically used for bezel set stones).
Leaving jewellery exposed to air (or displayed) can speed up the oxidising process, which can occur to raw and precious metals (where they have not been deliberately oxidised for style). In order to minimise this, you may like to store your jewellery in sealed airtight or anti-tarnish bags or it is sometimes recommended to keep items individually wrapped in tissue or a soft cloth. You can purchase special jewellery clothes or anti-tarnish pouches from retailers. If you have any questions about this, please email me as I may be able to help you source these.
If the metal on your jewellery item starts to show signs of tarnish, a very gentle polish and buff with a clean cloth will usually bring the shine up on your piece. Please do not use abrasive polishes or chemicals to clean your jewellery. Always be gentle when polishing.
When you wear your jewellery, be careful to avoid them coming into contact with cosmetics, hairspray or perfume as these can damage or discolour jewellery.
Please do remember that jewellery is very much organic! Pieces which have been deliberately oxidised or which have received a brushed silver or satin effect may lose this over time the more the piece is worn. I would recommend this kind of jewellery does not come into contact with water or it may speed up the process.
Some of the jewellery I make may have semi-precious or precious stones and some pieces are lucky enough to be made using old coins, sea glass or beach pebbles. These are either natural or historical components (or a combination) and must be handled with care. Glass is, of course, fragile and although the glass in these pieces will have been sea tumbled, please be sensible when wearing this type of jewellery to avoid damage. If a historic coin is used in a piece of jewellery and has been given a patina, please avoid putting this in water as the patina may wear or discolour (in the same way as something which has been deliberately oxidised).
My jewellery pieces are generally not hallmarked (only in line with the UK Assay Office requirements) and where precious stones or metals are used, this is clearly stated in the description of the item.
If you have any queries about any piece of jewellery or any of my terms and conditions, please do not hesitate to contact me by email to email@example.com.
