Satellites necklace

Satellites necklace

£120.00

This pendant has been silversmithed using traditional skills and tools and just my hands to create a one off collectable piece of jewellery like no other. Fashioned from sterling silver, a large flattened circular shape has been forged by hand and textured and is adorned with different-shaped orbiting pebbles, allowing the juxtapositions of smooth and shiny, raw and dark to play against the light and with movement.

The sterling silver has been oxidised and then polished to give contrast and depth in the metal. A single loop silver bail loosely connects over the pendant to allow it to travel somewhat when worn and to fall wherever the mood takes it. Comes w/ sterling silver oxidised chain, 18”.

Measures: 3.5cm x 4cm approximately
Materials: Sterling silver, silver chain
Finish: Oxidised/polished

All of my jewellery pieces are handcrafted by me using traditional silversmith skills at my little home studio, and are generally one of a kind in their design. I sometimes use findings which are not handmade, such as the chains I use for pendants. My jewellery is otherwise fashioned from solid sheet metal (such as sterling silver, fine silver, solid brass, solid copper) and precious or solid wire (not plated) with the use of old fashioned basic techniques and tools. I use ethically sourced gemstones where possible and all of the beachcombed items I use such as sea glass, sea pottery and sea plastic are genuine, mostly found by me (unless kindly donated) and smoothed naturally by the sea predominantly off the coast of England. My pieces are hallmarked when necessary as a precious metal by the London Assay Office with my maker’s mark – I use mostly sterling silver for my handmade jewellery and these are hallmarked when they are above the weight of 7.78g.
