Square aqua sea glass ring

Square aqua sea glass ring

£110.00

This ring has been handcrafted using traditional silversmithing skills and tools.

A wide piece of sterling silver has been cut using a saw, textured using a hammer and shaped using files. It has been fused together and then set with a fine silver bezel which is open at the back to allow the light in to shine through the back of the sea glass set within it. The piece of aqua sea glass is from the Isle of Sheppey and was found by me on the beach on a family trip there.

Measures: Size P to R (across 3 sizes because of its width) Width: 12mm approx.
Materials: Sterling silver, fine silver, sea glass
Finish: Oxidised - textured - polished

This is a one off design with a unique piece of sea glass.

All of my handmade jewellery pieces are handcrafted by me using traditional silversmith skills at my little home studio, and are generally one of a kind in their design. I sometimes use findings which are not handmade, such as the chains I use for pendants but otherwise my jewellery is fashioned just from sheet silver and silver wire and old fashioned basic techniques and tools. I use ethically sourced gemstones where possible and all of the beachcombed items I use such as sea glass, sea pottery and sea plastic are genuine, mostly found by me (unless kindly donated) and smoothed naturally by the sea predominantly off the coast of England. My pieces are hallmarked when necessary as a precious metal by the London Assay Office with my maker’s mark – I use mostly sterling silver for my handmade jewellery and these are hallmarked when they are above the weight of 7.78g.
